Pedestal Crane Inspection Offshore - Defects & Observations Noted.

Damaged Lattice Bracing s caused by the main hook Crane block hitting the 

underside  of the Boom Cat head  section while the Crane is working at a high 

Boom angle -  Caused mainly by poor Crane Operator error.

( Clarification  needs to be sought from Crane Manufacturer regarding their allowable tolerance  / distortion criteria and acceptability of the distorted lattice sections)

Pictures showing Boom hoist sheaves located on the Crane 'A' Frame & the Crane Boom tip / Cat head 

section Boom hoist cluster, with Negative Impression / Rope Imprint.

The sharp edges on the sheaves would cut and cause damage to the wire rope fitted and should be replaced, 

the sheave rope groove should be smooth and contoured to suit the wire rope diameter).
